Beer Run - 14er Brewing 5k - Colorado Brewery Running Series
StartMar 23
EndMar 23
We are the Colorado Brewery Running Series and we run for beer! Join us at 14er Brewing on Saturday, March 23rd @ 11AM for a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at this awesome brewery! Weave through the surrounding area at whatever pace you like, no matter what, there’s a beer waiting for you at the finish line! We are all about being active, having fun and giving back to our local community. +10% of your registration dollars go directly to local non-profits! Registration is limited, so sign up today! ABOUT THE RUN:   This may be different than other “races” you’ve done. We like to keep things relaxed, and all of our events are untimed so everyone can run or walk at their own pace. Instead of closing down the streets, we ensure a safe and fun running route on sidewalks, through parks, and along trails. The course is staffed with encouraging volunteers to cheer you on and point you back to the brewery for your much-deserved beer! EVENT DAY DETAILS: Please arrive 30 minutes before the start to get checked-in. Bring a valid ID. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly! (Registered, underage participants receive a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage). This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.  We run rain or shine! Dress appropriately for the weather. There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly. Bring extra money if you want to purchase food, more beer, or any of our great Colorado Brewery Running Series merchandise! Learn more at breweryrunningseries.com/colorado WHAT'S INCLUDED:  All participants receive a FREE craft brew from the brewery and get to take home a collectors pint glass or seasonal swag item from the Brewery Running Series...plus goodies and giveaways from our partners and sponsors + a chance to win sweet door prizes and more free beer!  Your registration also earns you an invitation to stick around and enjoy the day’s entertainment: live music, food offerings, local vendors, and fun with our sponsors. Colorado Brewery Running Series merchandise, including shirts, hats, stickers, heat press brewery logos, and seasonal items will be available at the event.  You can also add on a Brewery Running Series T-shirt for $10 at the time of registration, and pick it up when you check-in on site. WHAT WE'RE ABOUT:  Our motto = be active, have fun, give back! In addition to pairing some exercise with great craft beer, a portion of all proceeds goes back to local non-profits. We are very proud that the Colorado Brewery Running Series has so far donated over $13,000 to local non-profits! 10% of our proceeds help support our nonprofit partners, which in 2019 will be, The House that Beer Built, Dumb Friends League, and Range of Motion Project.  PARKING:  There is plenty of parking on the streets around the brewery, but we encourage carpooling, biking, and public transit, and as always safe, designated drivers! Look for our informational email closer to the event. We will remind you of these details and share anything else you might need to know. Cheers to beer!

Once he made his move to Denver, he hit the ground running and can be found playing the city’s hotspots. His eclectic taste in music, coupled with the technical ability to mix and move from one genre to the next, 2AR is a versatile open format DJ that is able to play to the crowd that is put in front of him. Lunchtime Webinar - Flexible Works: flexible working as part of the good work agenda for HR professionals
StartMar 29
EndMar 29
Flexible Works:  flexible working as part of the good work agenda for HR professionals Having flexibility in a job role is seen as desirable by over 70% of the UK working population. However recent research undertaken by the CIPD for their Megatrends report highlights that the extent to which we are working flexibly has seen little change over the last 15 years. With CIPD Chief Executive, Peter Cheese, chairing the government-led Taskforce on Flexible Working and flexible working being seen as a key component of the good work agenda, the Coventry & Warwickshire branch are delighted to be running a webinar on flexible working. As a branch we have historically run most of our professional development events in an evening which is not convenient for all our membership. Therefore in the spirit of operating more flexibly and inclusivity, we are experimenting with the webinar format for the first time at branch level. The webinar will last for one hour, will be hosted by branch Vice-Chair, Sally Dhillon, who will give an overview of the webinar functionality in addition to an introduction to the subject matter and #theCWdifference good work campaign. We will then hear from our two speakers: A Case Study on Flexible Working "Inside Atkins”  - with guest speaker Jennifer McClellan, HR Operations Partner, Transportation, Atkins Turning Flexible Working into Smart Working - with Ruth Gawthorpe, CEO Smart Working Revolution If you would like to take part in this webinar please register on this event page and you will be sent further details about how to log on to the webinar. Guest speakers Jennifer McClellan is a Human Resources Business Partner at SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business.  She is a passionate champion of diversity and inclusion, particularly in relation to supporting working parents in order to achieve greater gender balance both within and outside the workplace. Jennifer started an employee network to better support individuals and managers with the challenges of balancing parenting and work. The network has gone from strength to strength and discusses many issues, providing a support network and buddy system for pregnant women and new and “experienced” parents. Atkins recently signed the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s Working Forward Pledge publicly demonstrating its commitment to continuous improvement. Flexible working is a key theme in their 2019 action plan and forms a core part of the Business Strategy, People Strategy and Diversity and Inclusion Strategy. Ruth Gawthorpe is a passionate champion of Smart Working. Here’s her story.....  20 years ago, Ruth and her business partner, Oliver Thompson, started rolling out smart working options, such as term time teams, gym teams and compressed weeks into a corporate organisation. They’ve not stopped since. They have developed a methodology for successful implementation and, crucially, know what it takes to avoid the pitfalls. 5 years ago Ruth became wheelchair bound for a while and realised just how much talent cannot do the commute 5 days a week. Today, she’s CEO of the Smart Working Revolution. Ruth and the team support Business Leaders who are passionate about adopting Smart Working because it benefits business, employees and customers as well. When adopted widely, the impact of Smart Working on society will be powerful. That’s why Ruth and Olly lobby Government bodies and National associations to support organisations who implement smart options.
